About the Role 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer to support a key customer project, working on a modern AI-supported platform within a regulated environment. 

This is a hands-on automation role where you'll design, build and maintain automated testing solutions using Python, TypeScript and Playwright, integrating automated tests into existing CI/CD pipelines and working closely with Developers, Product Owners and Business Analysts. 

The platform combines modern technology and AI capabilities to improve how complex documentation and information are reviewed, accessed and assessed. 
 

Key Responsibilities 

• Design, build and maintain automated tests using Playwright, Python and TypeScript. 

• Integrate automated testing into existing CI/CD pipelines. 

• Design and execute functional, regression, integration and system testing. 

• Manage and track defects using Jira and/or Azure DevOps. 

• Support performance and security testing using tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner. 

• Produce test reports, metrics and dashboards for stakeholders. 

• Support release activities, including release documentation and incorporating feedback into future improvements. 

• Work closely with Developers, Product Owners and Business Analysts to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle. 

• Contribute to continuous improvement of test automation frameworks and testing practices. 

• Work within an Agile/Scrum delivery environment, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, refinement, reviews and retrospectives. 
   

Required Skills & Experience 

• Strong commercial Test Automation experience. 

• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright. 

• Strong hands-on experience automating tests using Python. 

• Experience with TypeScript for test automation. 

• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. 

• Strong understanding of test design and testing methodologies. 

• Experience across functional, regression, integration and system testing. 

• Experience with defect management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps. 

• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum teams alongside engineering and product stakeholders. 
   

Nice to Have 

• Performance testing experience with JMeter or LoadRunner. 

• Security testing experience. 

• Experience producing test metrics, dashboards and release reports. 

• Experience testing AI-enabled applications or platforms. 

• Previous experience within insurance, financial services or other regulated environments.
